Updated: Nov 21, 2024

What are the Best Foundations For Birthmarks?

Having a birthmark can make applying makeup feel overwhelming. The numerous choices, the time it consumes, and the associated costs can all feel burdensome.

In my opinion, when it comes to what you're putting on your face, it's not the time to skimp on quality. After all, it's your beautiful face we're talking about! Therefore, I advocate for purchasing only the things you truly love and that are of excellent quality.

In this article, I've curated a list of best foundations for birthmarks that I personally find both functional and luxurious. These are from brands that I've personally tried, tested, and trust.

Finding quality foundation and makeup that will look natural and either compliment or cover is a hard task. When I look for full coverage there are 4 main things I stay away from.

THINGS I ADVISE TO AVOID:

  1. An overly dry flat or matte finish

  2. Caking and uneven during application

  3. Creasing

  4. Smearing and movement through out the day

  5. Cheap and not quality ingredients

I am constantly testing and trying new brands and products just to stay up to date with the latest and greatest formulas out there.

Side note to remember:

I set my foundation with powder to achieve true full coverage and enhance longevity of the makeup.

This is a step I always incorporate with all my foundation/ full coverage routines.

Here are my top 5 foundation picks to beat the summer heat!

Woman with Birthmark and Lancome Foundation

This is currently my top pick. The texture and feel of this product are fantastic, and it wears very well throughout the day. I can even tell that my skin looks healthy at the end of the day after I wash off the makeup.

It is a full-coverage, natural matte foundation that is sweat and waterproof. It truly is an ultra-breathable foundation and is packed with skin-loving ingredients like Moringa seed extract and Sonchifolia Root Juice (which helps with acne and breakouts).

I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

This has been my go-to for the past four years. I have sensitive, combination skin with occasional eczema patches.

I love this foundation for its thin consistency and remarkable coverage. The matte finish feels soft and lightweight, lasting effortlessly throughout the day. It's versatile, offering the option for additional coverage if needed. However, it's important to blend it quickly for the most even coverage. I never have experienced any irritations with this product.

Overall, it's a fantastic soft matte foundation with genuinely long-lasting wear. I highly recommend it! Two thumbs way up!

#4 Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Luminous Natural Matte Foundation 24H Longwear SPF 30 with Hyaluronic Acid

YSL Foundation

As usual YSL products are great! I am very happy with this foundation! It is a medium to full coverage and buildable. The foundation truly feels light on the skin and does not cake, crease, or flake. It also does not dry out the skin. It does quite a good job at concealing dark spots and red pigments.

This foundation does oxidizes so if you want to be true to your color find a shade ever so slightly lighter than your skin and then deepen with your favorite bronzer where needed.

#5 CHANNEL ULTRA LE TEINT Ultrawear All Day Comfort Flawless Finish Foundation

Channel Foundation

This foundation provides solid medium to full coverage. It smoothly covers and will give your face a natural glow, It is a tad lighter coverage than all the ones listed above, but this foundation offers a beautiful satin-like finish which is why it made the list.

If you have olive or yellow undertones note that their colors tend to lean slightly toward the pink undertones. This is partly how they achieve the glow finish for all the skin tones.
